To the mama who got a shitty diagnosis: Know that the diagnosis is the worst week. The tests. The waiting. Those words when you find out it’s multiple sclerosis, or parkinsons, or, in my case, cancer. That first week when the life you had planned, the life you had carefully dreamed up, got torn away… Read more »
We’ve noticed something, and perhaps you’ve noticed it too… Upon becoming a mother, people’s expectations and perceptions of your ability to go hard athletically in the mountains seems to shift. People don’t expect you to crush, send, or shred the gnar; they don’t expect you to show-up, let alone perform. We’ve got a mountain of updates to share…The first AMI expedition is officially in the works, our fundraiser launches May 8th, and our non-profit status is now pending with the IRS!

As my patrol and PA friend gathered round with an oxygen mask, I gasped for air through sharp pains in my chest: “Can we at least check to make sure I’m not bleeding…like really bad?” While this might sound like the start of some crazy, once-in-a-lifetime ski wreck story, this was par for the course… Read more »
I don’t have some perfectly-organized, elegantly-articulated, seamlessly-written piece to share today. It seems like when people are going through shitty times, they often tell stories about how they’re warriors, about how they’re going to get through it, about things happening for a reason, about strength and courage… I don’t have the energy to prepare something… Read more »
Internship ad or social media soapbox rant? Um, both. Social media is arguably the greatest change-catalyst of our modern age. If it’s progress you seek, find a way to reach and engage your audience authentically. In our technologically saturated world, that means being a social media boss—seriously, it’s powerful shit.
